Has It Been Five Years Already? Yes, It Has. Gah!

When a big ticket item breaks in our Bodacious Dog Mom household, I have a horrible habit of saying, "We just bought this a couple of years ago." More than likely, that's not the case. A perfect example is an awesome grill I bought Lisa for one of our anniversaries.

Last month, Lisa told me that our grill was dying. Only half of the burners worked. I was a bit shocked.

"Are you serious? I bought that for you a couple of years ago for one of our anniversaries. I paid good money for that. What. The. F-Bomb?"

"Sweetie, it was more than a couple of years ago."

"No, it wasn't."

Yes, it was."

"Whatever."

I stormed off. Into our home office.

I knew that I had posted a photo the day I bought Lisa the grill.

I did.

The date on the photo was June 15, 2013.

Gasp!

I was wrong.

It had already been over 5 years.

Before I headed back to the kitchen to admit my wrongness, I reflected on the day that I bought Lisa the grill.

We had gone out for dinner.

Then, I took her to the store that had the grill she wanted and all of the supplies.

She was surprised and excited. I purchased all of the accessories she wanted.

After purchasing everything, we discovered the box that the grill came in didn't fit into our car. This was before we purchased our larger vehicle in October of 2015.

We had to take everything out of the box to load into our car.

The sales rep kept saying, "We're not responsible if something goes wrong. This is your own doing."

My response was my resting bitch face. As if to say "Yeah, we know. We get it. We've got this."

Problem solved.

In the past 5 years, we have used the grill year-round.  Even during the coldest of the Winter months.

Five. Whole. Years.

Has it really been that long?

As of now, only half of our grill works.

I'm determined to get at least a dozen more dinners out of our grill.

It won't last beyond this Fall.

I'm going to do my best to save up and buy Lisa a grill on clearance before the Winter season.

Now is the time to get a great deal on a grill.

Lisa is thinking the same thing.

We loved grilled food. So do our kids.

We're keeping our fingers and paws crossed.

    1. We use our grill year-round. I agree, 5 years is short, but sadly, they just don't make things like they used to. The microwave we bought in early 2012 died last year. We very seldom used it. In fact, we haven't bothered replacing it. Don't miss it.
