Mother Nature definitely unleashed her crazy side today. The massive Nor'Easter that began in the wee hours of the morning has finally ended. Our area got close to 2 feet of snow. The lights flickered a lot. As of now, 45% of the people in our town are without power due to a transformer catching on fire. Our lights dimmed, but we didn't lose power or internet. We're not out of the woods yet. I won't take the frozen water bottles out of the freezer or dump the pail flushing water until tomorrow afternoon.
The kids weren't too thrilled with the storm. The only one who truly enjoyed the snow was Willa. Lisa cleared an area in the backyard. Willa was the only one who ventured out beyond the clearing into the deep snow. Even Coco, who usually likes the snow, wasn't interested. There was too much snow. I think he was a little scared.
This is the most snow we've gotten since moving here in 2012.
By late afternoon, Lisa's snow removal efforts from earlier had been covered with over a foot of new snow. She revved the snow blower back up. I joined her.
The kids went nuts because I was outside with Lisa helping with snow removal. Dinner was late for all of us. Surprisingly, the kids didn't mind.
They got lots of extra snacks today.
Right now, I'm tired. Sore. Relieved. I have a bruise and an egg on my forehead from walking into the hatchback on our vehicle while helping Lisa with snow removal.
Don't ask.
We have gotten through 3 Nor'Easters in less than 2 weeks.
Every ounce of my being wants this one to be the last for the season, but there is already talk of another one that'll hit early next week.
I don't even want to think about that.
I. Just. Can't.
