Here Is The Recipe For Our Homemade Blueberry Pie Dog Treats

I had every intention of creating another homemade dog treat recipe using fresh fruit, however, we found a great deal on dehydrated blueberries last weekend. That shifted my focus a little and inspired me to create a peanut butter free, soft-baked blueberry dog biscuit.

Our kids love blueberries.

In a mixer or bowl combine the following...

2 cups flour
3/4 cup whole dried blueberries
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk (you can use water if your pup/s are dairy sensitive)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder

Mix well. If your dough is too dry, add a few splashes of warm water. If too sticky, add another pinch or two of flour.

When handling the dough, you'll want to flour your hands as this dough is a little sticky. Make sure to flour your counter really well.

Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch. You'll have to lightly flour the top of the dough while rolling. Use a cookie cutter of choice. The dough can be worked and rolled as many times as needed until you run out.

Bake at 350 for 22 minutes. Your time may vary depending on your oven. You'll want to use a non-stick cookie sheet, line your baking sheet with non-stick foil, or use a little non-stick spray. If you don't have any of those, make sure to remove the biscuits from the cookie sheet immediately after baking.

The blueberries get a little juicy when baking and some of the biscuits will stick.

Once the biscuits are cooled, put in an airtight container or Ziploc style bag.

Enjoy and happy baking!
