Baking Biscuit Love And Preparing For A Bombogenesis

It's a little 12 p.m. I'm scared. Yes, scared. I normally keep up on the weather, but for the past few days, I haven't. Until early this morning. When I saw several posts from my local peeps about a strong storm system moving in. That's when I investigated. Apparently, there's a strong coastal storm moving in and it's going to involve a Bombogenesis. I'm not familiar with the term "Bombogenesis." I had to look it up. Between the information I gathered and seeing the warning map that we're expected to get winds between 50-74 mph plus, I'm concerned.

You can Google "Bombogenesis" and learn all about this weather bomb.

Due to the storm system moving in, Lisa left a few hours earlier to deliver the Meal Train meals we prepared for our friends. I'm at home baking biscuit love. Muffins. Cooking extra chicken and sweet potatoes for our kid's meals.

We have plenty of candles and flashlights and batteries. Lisa is going to fill our trash cans with water after she gets home for pail flushing. We have a case of water. We had plans on doing grocery shopping today, but we're going to hold off. We have enough food to get us by for a few days should we lose power. Between putting trays of biscuits in the oven and waiting for them to bake, I'm going to do housework. Lisa is going to finish up laundry.

We've lived here since July of 2012. We lost power for a few hours during Tropical Storm Sandy. During other intense storms, our power has flickered and we've lost it for a minute or two here and there. However, we've been fortunate enough to not lose power for a significant amount of time.

But, we've also never had winds between 50-74 mph plus...

My nerves are slightly rattled.

As of now, the storm is supposed to pick up around 6 p.m. tonight. The worst of the storm will be between the hours of 8 p.m. and 3 a.m.

I'll be up. Armed with flashlights. Awake.

I'll keep you posted.
