I Am Honored. I Feel Loved. Appreciated. Grateful. Spoiled. Acknowledged.

Lisa and I don't exchange gifts in a conventional manner. In other words, we don't buy gifts specifically for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays and special occasions. As in, we don't present gifts on that "one special day." Instead, we surprise each other with Just Because gifts throughout the year. If a "special day" is approaching, one of us might surprise the other with a gift and say, "This is in honor of..."

For example, over the past few weeks, I've bought Lisa a few power tools that she's really wanted. Those gifts are in honor of our June 27th Anniversary, our Wedding Anniversary on July 28th, and her birthday on August 12th. From now, until beyond her birthday, I'll be buying her power tools and non-power tools and supplies to get her basement wood shop started.

Today was another example of our non-conventional Just Because gift giving.

She ran an errand and came back with a handled paper bag that instantly got me salivating.

Bath & Body Works.

When Lisa handed it to me she said, "This is an early Mother's Day gift from Coco, Sophie, Lobo, Willa, and Olivia."

That was followed by, "I was able to use a few coupons that we got in the mail. I saved over 50% off the total cost. You'd be proud."

I stood there giggling while taking everything out of the Bath & Body Works bag.

I am proud.

But, most of all, I am honored. I feel loved. Appreciated. Grateful. Spoiled. Indulged.

Most of all, I feel acknowledged.
