Happy Easter From Our Home To Yours

What a day. What a weekend. Easter is almost over. It was a rather fun day in our crazy Bodacious Dog Mom home. Although Lisa and I don't go over the top celebrating Easter, we enjoyed a few Easter goodies, surprised the kids with gifts, and made a big dinner. The kids enjoyed their NylaBones and Olivia happily munched on one of her honey sticks. I made Lisa a scrumptious breakfast of french toast with fresh raspberries on top and scrambled eggs. She surprised me with some of my favorite wine.

Not all Easter Baskets are filled with chocolate bunnies, marshmallow eggs, and jelly beans. Some Easter baskets are just the right size for a Box O' Moscato. Thank you, Easter Bunny!

Later in the day, our neighbor friends who we pet and house sat for stopped by for a visit. They returned home from Puerto Rico yesterday and surprised us with quite a few goodies from their travels. Delicious hot sauces. A beautiful lizard to complete our kitchen border. And, all that's needed to make our favorite drink...a Cuban Highball (aka Mojito).

We got to hear some wonderful stories of their adventures, the various foods they tried, and a lil' history of places far away.

In the past, we've had people ask if it bothers us when people share their adventures with us. The answer is no. Never.

Over the years, when we pet and house sit for our neighbor friends, they always visit shortly after arriving home. We love to hear about their travels. The stories are all over the charts. From mishaps and tripping over sand at the beach to incredible sunsets and exciting foods.

They always bring back treats and treasures for us from their travels. We are so grateful for their generosity. We've got stuff from all around the world scattered throughout our home.

Goodies from the Easter Bunny and Puerto Rico weren't the only treasures of the day. Last week I received an old sewing box from our sweet friends. They came across it when cleaning out an old barn.

While rummaging through the hodgepodge of vintage sewing supplies, a few things caught my attention. A spool of American Thread Company thread from the 1940's. Antique Chatelaine embroidery scissors dating back to the late 1800's to very early 1900's. A full spool of Belding Heminway Company pure silk thread from around 1925. And, 2 vintage metal coat buttons.

I've been a sewing enthusiast for over 30 years and these gems are invaluable to me. The sewing box will proudly be displayed on one of our antique sewing tables with these items secured on the top.

The only thing that kind of sucked today was the unseasonably warm temperatures today. It spiked to almost 90. Normally, during the summer months, that wouldn't be a problem. But, today it was. We don't have the AC's in yet. I had to put the oven on for 3 hours.

It's almost midnight and it's still hot and stuffy in here, but dinner was absolutely delicious so it was kinda worth it.

Aside from that, it was a fabulous weekend all the way around.

We hope you all had a great Easter!
