We're Raising Money With Our DIY Country Crackle Holiday Ornaments

One of our DIY Dog Mom Projects for the month of October are these adorable dog bone ornaments. Although a little time consuming, they're fairly simple to make. I took photos of the entire process from start to finish and will be posting that soon. Aside from being DIY Dog Mom project, we're making and personalizing these ornaments to raise funds for our Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin.

Last night, Our Bodacious Country Crackle Holiday Ornaments went live last night and they're available to purchase through October 31st.

Our Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin was a partial DIY project. A neighbor friend of ours gave us this storage bin a few years ago. It's been in the biscuit room since and has housed seasonal Bodacious Biscuit Love stuff. We've also stacked baskets on top to use for raffle and fundraising baskets.

Two days after Lisa lifted the beast on our table, the storage bin looked like this. It's now officially our Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin.

What are we filling it with and why?

After much thought and planning, we decided to make some changes with Bodacious Biscuit Love. One of the biggest changes is that we're pulling things in to be more local. For almost 3 years we've spread biscuit love, donated Bodacious Raffle Baskets, and had many fundraisers to assist Connecticut animal shelters and rescue groups. However, with it being just Lisa and I, and that not changing ever, we were spreading ourselves too thin.

In addition to donating our biscuits to local animal shelters and rescue organizations, we've donated biscuits to needy families. In doing so, we've learned there are plenty of people here in Plainfield who have fallen on hard times.

At some point, in the next couple of weeks, we'll be filling it with biscuit love, pet food, and pet supplies to help pet parents in our area who have fallen on hard times.

The concept is similar to a human food table. People donate food. The food table is offered once or twice a week. Needy families can grab a bag and help themselves.

The bin will be on our front porch a couple of times per week and the contents will be available for those in need who have pets. Later this year, we'll be putting aside a few hours a week to make deliveries to families in need who don't have a means of transportation.

Also, during the holiday season, we'll be putting together Holiday Pet Baskets for needy families.

The proceeds from our Bodacious Country Crackle Holiday Ornaments will help us to keep this bin stocked and fill our Holiday Pet Baskets.

We'll still be donating our homemade biscuits to local animal shelters. And, if there's an event raising money for those animal shelters, we'll be more than happy to donate a Bodacious Raffle Basket.

Our primary focus will be providing for our own community. There are several animal organizations here in Connecticut that cater specifically to their town. For example, Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. raises funds, and so much more, for the Ledyard Animal Control. Kenway's Cause assists the Hartford area. Bodacious Biscuit Love will assist our community.

We're excited about these changes.

And, we're excited about more changes in the months ahead for Bodacious Biscuit Love and this Dog Mom blog site.

Lots of work.

Face forward. Onward march.

Stay tuned.
